Sardar was one of eminent general of Maharaja Ranjit Singh,who was wounded fifteen times and was areceipent of Izazi-i-Sardari,the highest military award. .He was decorated with the civil awards of Nirmal Bud and Ujjal Didar.The civil awards were prefix where military awards to be suffix to the name.

5.Sardar had, his Jagir areas at Sha pur,Kot Star Do Buraj, Chack Biswa, chack Gurmukh Singh (Later known as Bara Dari) and Qila Sardar Atar Singh..Sardar constructed fort at his Jagir area,on name of his only son Sardar Atar Singh,later township came up known as Qila Sardar Atar Singh .It is a plce of turist interest in pakistan Fort
even exist to day. In July 1952,due to lack of care and maintaince the walls of the fort started collapsing the Royal Tresure of Sardar family was found, later conficitated by the Government of Pakistan.
